About This Project

MOD: General Contracting
Contract: $15,024,000 (Hard Bid)

A new industrial wastewater treatment plant capable of treating 500,000 gallons per day and 14,000 pounds of carbonaceous biochemical oxygen demand was built for the city of Le Mars. The primary purpose of the project was to treat industrial waste from the Dean Foods and Wells Enterprises, Inc. plants. As part of the project, a lift station was built to pump waste to an existing wastewater treatment plant where the waste enters a new splitter building that directs the flow to one of three destinations; to the old plant, to the new plant, or to a combination of both. The new facility uses a rotary drum screen, aeration basin, and clarifiers to treat waste. Once treated, the waste is then pumped back to the existing plant and discharged into the Floyd River.
